Hello everybody I'm gonna give you guys a full review on PC version of INVERSION.Although its concept and theme may seem great and apart from other shooters on the market but is it really? Lets Check Out......
Story....
In campaign story is pretty linear hardly enough to begin with the story starts with you stepping into the shoes of David russel a Cop in vangaurd City .The Campaign starts with attack on the city by some high tech ravagers(Lutadores) having these nifty little devices called GravLink using it to literally bend the laws of physics.Soon after that you find yourself enslaved by the Lutadores and after your dramatic escape from prison your main goal is to find your daughter who got lost when this chaos strikes.Even though the story is pretty straight forward there is a couple of pretty nice surprise for players
Visuals.....
Visuals in Inversion is pretty nice the Vangaurd City looks very promising in this gravitational chaos but in a few areas you might find textures a little bit shabby thankfully its not a deal breaker. The Characters are very well clayed even the grunt Lutadores have detailed textures. But sadly it cant be said for different level designs some locations may seem very impressive and some feels too shabby ,This also goes for the textures and details in weapons where i find myself getting confused between different types. Apart from these flaws the visuals in INVERSION is pretty good but nothing spectacular is to be expected.
Gameplay.....
This is a Traditional third-person cover based shooter which i personally found to be highly influenced by Gears Of War , as it resembles a lot from GOW(Gears Of War) way of taking cover, movement and even a weapon is almost similar to Retro Lance Of GOW but it was unable to bring that smooth experience.Apart from it the gun play feels odd while playing i wasn't getting that feeling of holding a gun in my hand and the worst part of it was the melee it literally sucks the life out of combat it seems like i just wave my arms in air and the enemy automatically died other than The narration and voice feels like forced on characters and just doesn't sit right . Other than this rough features i thoroughly enjoyed the GravLink(gravity controling machine) it was awesome you can literally crush your enemies with Low and High Gravity , as game continues you will also find various new features including in GravLink like throwing cars at enemies or forming a forcefield of gravity even though this is very fun ..And game also have a few sections of area where you have to float in air going from debris to debris it may seem difficult seem difficult and broken part of gameplay but after you get a hold of its actually nice and combat while floating is awesome. One of the main highlights of the game were boss fights where you have to cunningly use your GravLink to defeat them but i think it was not enough for developers as they desperately tried to force the same boss battles over and over again which proved to be a deal breaker if you neglect this feature then Boss fight may seem fun and proportionally challenging even both friendly and non friendly AI's are great they play technically like evading, dodging ,Flanking and this goes without saying that this game has pretty solid AI's.Then there is destruction part of game it is well implemented according to surroundings not as great and wide ranged or satisfying as Red Faction or Battlefield games but it is a positive aspect of the game.
Multiplayer.....
This game has both co-op/competetive based multiplayer .After finishing campaign in nearly 6-7 hours i was actually excited for multiplayer for using the GravLink on players but as i mention earlier gameplay mechanics is not likely smooth for game play features implementation of aspects from campaign into multiplayer doesn't sit well but it still could be fun at times to play with friends. The main great part of its Multiplayer is its co-op feature where you and your friend can play as Davis Russell and Leo Delgado in Campaign co-op it just doubles the fun of the game just imagine blasting your way through hordes of Lutadores with a friend hooked up in a GravLink.
Final Words....
Inversion is pretty nice game with well designed visuals and environment and satisfying blood & gore, the gravity concept is great approach and new theme for good old third person shooting genre. It may not be a must buy but in today's world of sequels and cliche'd concepts its a pretty nice approach.
Pros- AI is pretty Solid,Co-op is fun, GravLink boost ups the game's aspects
Cons-Poor gun play and melee combat, repetetive boss fights , multiplayer is not smooth as it should be
From my Side it goes...........6.5/10
