Story/Plot
Well explaining plot about this game is difficult but it can be termed 'contradictory' as compared to previous titles , if any of you guys have played previous games the main plot which were pretty much straight foreward where you have to put an end to templar's scheme with twists and turns along the way of Characters story by following the way of Assassins and their Integrity , but this time they almost did the same thing but took a pretty scenic route which was a nice change of pace .The Assassin you are placed in is 'Edward Kennway' grandfather of 'Connor' from Assassin's Creed 3. Here the player is not displayed as a hardened assassin but presented as sort of Rash pirate who only cares about profit and happens to obtained the robe of assassin from a corrupted assassin and finds himself in the middle of a race between Templars & Assassins towards 'The Observatory' which is a ancient vault containing a 'piece of eden'. The plot of this game has its ups & Downs , positive points include a true pirate like experience , plot involving legendary pirates like 'Blackbeard',the game has its own grand moments & negative sides include a little bit of redundancy and i found the story to be not as immersive and inspiring as previous titles and Plot in real world also seems a little clever at first but it turns disappointing and bland by the end.
Gameplay
The Gameplay experience i obtained from fromthis game was remarkable and unique. This game provides you with a True life like experience of a pirates life. This doesn't only includes unique and exciting main campaign missions but also literally includes tons of side activities which is gonna hook you up with this game for days at the end. This time ubisoft notched up and provided us with a grand play ground to explore and relive the 'the golden age id piracy' . where main missions are in a spice mix of stealth , espionage, naval combat , looting, salvaging, brute combat etc.which lasts easily more than 12-15 hours of main missions & if you are a completionist like me you are in a great luck provided an extra Large playing ground to explore and tons of collectibles and side activities which incudes salvaging , harpooning whales and sharks , treasure hunt , raiding other ships , assassination and Naval contract , helping out Assassin bureau etc. Which will easily provide you with 50+ hours of gameplay time.
Now giving up detailed insight on the gameplay structure i can say that ubisoft perfected the user friendly gameplay of assassin's creed III with a few new tweaks of their own like now using ranged weapons are very easy and be skillfully applied during combat and also sword fight seems more fluent and brutal , freeing up slaves to recruut them in your crew and they took Naval portion of the gameplay to a whole new level by making it more interactive and tying up many side activities to back it up with , also in this game hunting ,salvaging and raiding is very important because apart from money you also need raw materials for upgrading your ship and your character among which one my favourite side activity is going on treasure hunt to fing thw chest by figuring out the map and capturing of an entire fort to make a specific region into a non restricted are where they provides you with support during combat. Although gameplay aspect is completely solid i noticed that AI in the game are very unpredictable ,sometimes they act very cautious and some time just dumb as a doornail ,apart from this i have no complaints regarding it gameplay tactics. I consider it one of the best action-adventure game of all time and its a high praise coming from me.
Multiplayer
Well personally i really love the multiplayer section of this game and have thoroughly enjoyed it on previous titles (Assassin's Creed- brotherhood, Revelations, III ) because of its unique gameplay which sets it apart from mainstream multiplayer of shooting titles . If you are unaware of the theme let me give you a quick concept about it , the concept is very simple you are given a target which you have kill as swiftly and stealthily as possible and at the same time you have a pursuer who is gonna kill you, whom you have to evade. Seems easy enough right ? well its more complicated than it looks where you require a lot of tactics and techniques to come out on top & various game modes have been established on this concept to provide variations , also this time they have added a gamelab mode where you have ability to personalize and create your very own game mode which you can share with your friends and entire uplay community and if its good enough it will officially credited and will launched as official game mode and i would like to mention the social concept of uplay community present in the game which lets you share achiements, community challenges and special event occurring in either single player or multiplayer which is well appreciated and here ubisoft has perfected its online structure with almost no bugs.
Visual/Sound FX
On the basis of visual display and GFX the game looks beautiful every character , effects, surroundings adds life to the game and a special shout out goes for water effects and sea shores area where realistic scenarios are unbelievable, although the game looks super amazing but detailing of some forest areas and animals looks bland and little shady , otherwise game looks totally gorgeous and a little warning for pc gamers this game is very resource hungry and requires a system with high end configuration.
Final Words
This games is truly amazing whether in terms of visual eye candy or action packed gameplay filled with adventure and a vast world to explore even though plot was not as inspiring but wasn't half bad either .In short its a must play for every gamer no matter your genre preference.
Pros - Visual eye candy & amazing sound tracks , fluent and action packed gameplay , a true experience of golden age of piracy
Cons- Story/Plot was not as inspiring and immersive , Unpredictable AI(sometimes go complete dumb)
Rating - 8.8/ 10
