Story
Well the events of Saints Row IV takes place 5 years after the Happenstance of Saints Row The Third and a lot of things have changed since ,You are now the President of America apart from same old trusty Homies you also get a couple of New ones and believe me you'll be surely excited to see them one of which is 'Keith David' Himself now getting back on story plot - The Earth is invaded by Alien race called 'Zin' (i know its pretty cheesy) and since there is invasion there will be abduction where you and many of your homies have abducted By Zinyak (Leader of Zin Empire) and they have kept you and everybody else in a virtual World A sort of Prison of your Mind and you have to access that virtual world to free your homies from the virtual reality and use powers which you obtained when 'Kinzy'(Cyber World Expert Homie from Saints Row the Third) hacked the Virtual World to provide you some advantages , the plot is sort of like Matrix Movie , infact its exactly the same even the way you got rescued from Virtual Reality. Now you have to disrupt and Cause Chaos to Zin Empire not only Virtually But also in the Real world Which provides a Sci-fi Space adventure to the plot, which in every way an awesome and mind blowing experience.
Many of you who have been reading this must have watched Movies Making parodies of different movies but this is the First game which not only creates parodies of different games but also the movies, everybody's gonna be laughing their asses off when they play this game this i can surely vouch for.
Gameplay
Well in aspect of Technicality the gameplay mechanics is almost as same as Saints Row The Third and although the key features remains the same there have been some changes due to addition of super powers , like in challenges which were available in Saints Row 3 are now presented with a little twist and turns and also new challenges are added keeping the new acquired super powers in mind. Well having super powers is extremely fun i don't even think i used vehicle either land or air during my first play through as having powers like Super Strength , Super Speed i didn't saw any use of transport as obviously i was faster than it i even dare say that i hardly used weapons to kill enemies (Murder Bots & Boss Battles excluded) , speaking of which a great array of weapons have been provided to you to wreak havok and bring Chaos to the world and here's a cherry on top i found the gameplay to be very smooth and very less buggy as compared to previous game.
Now taking a deeper look into the Super Powers and mission layout of the game.Well your Quest log contains main quest and side quests , here addition of side quests can be determined as new and every quest (Main or Side) are divided into different levels or parts where performing main quests you make progress in Story line and performing Side quests provides special upgrades to your powers and not only this you also get special upgrades for powers by completing certain Challenges and rest of the power upgrades you can buy using data clusters present throughout the city in an abundant quantity and normal character upgrades can be bought using money same as previous game. Now Lets familiarize you with awesome powers that are available which are 'Super Speed' , 'Super Jump' (glide is also unlocked via this) , 'Super Strength' is sort of a passive ability , 'Blast' here you can throw deadly balls of elements like fire & ice , 'Telekenisis' (I don't think i need to explain what this is.!) , 'Power Stomp', 'Buff' its a sort of protective shield which provide you with damage boosts and Finally 'Death From Above' in this ability you you mark a point from high altitude and blast down to the ground, Damn its extreeme Fun using powers especially in an Open-World SandBox game and its even more fun when playing co-op which is much more stabilized and also exclusive challenges have been provided. Gameplay of this game maybe very much similar to its predecessor but in a way of technicality its much more smooth and provides a better grip to the players.
As i mentioned early that this game makes parodies of not only various games but that also of movies here are some examples to excite you up...its power features are very similar to that of Prototype , its ally/Homie interaction and Romance simulation for various characters in aboard the ship can be easily compared to Mass Effect games and the whole plot of virtual world is way to similar as Matrix Movies and this are the only parodies i will mention as don't want to spoil the fun by giving away everything.
Visuals/Sound FX
Well even Visually the game is almost as same as 'Saints Row The Third' but by taking a deeper look it can been seen that there have been some improvements like increased facial details and expressions , blast and lightning effects more dynamism has been added but still its takes a keen eye to find the Difference and i expected much more from the game so i'm disappointed in this aspect , Overall the visuals can be deemed as 'FINE'
Now Speaking of Sound FX the Saints Row Series always had a punch in their SoundTrack and this game is also no different containing great music score , Dynamic Sound effects , Voice acting great as always filled with cheesy humours and exquisite punch lines... There is hardly a fault you can find here.
Final Words
Well honestly speaking "Saints Row 4" is very similar to that of its predecessor in almost every aspect but still its an awesome game i enjoyed it a lot , its highly entertaining and fun no matter what you won't be bored out of this one for a long time , this game reminded me of good ol'days when gaming was all about fun and entertainment , no matter whats your preference choice of game is enjoyable by all
Pros - Highly entertaining fun , smoother gameplay , cheesy humours , super powers are awesome , great voice acting
Cons - Very Similar to Saints Row The Third , minor bugs ,
Rating - 7.8/10
