Marvel Heroes - Complete Review (PC)

Hey there fellow readers i am pretty excited to write up the review of Marvel Heroes , which i've heard from many sources that it is the most awaited MMO(Massively Multiplayer Online) of this year and i was personally excited i mean who wouldn't , Activision's first MMO (i think !!) that to based on marvel series , If you people remember there were also two titles before based on  a theme like  this Marvel's Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 thought it wasn't a heck ass popular but it was still a great co-op fun with friends  i personally enjoyed that game a lot and was hoping that they could re-create that experience  on a larger scale with MMO feature and since basically the game is a Free 2 Play and who doesn't love a free game which is technically a AAA title....Lets see how this game turns out.

Story

Well generally speaking according to me the story in a MMO seems to matter the least , actually its more of a forced Cliche'd plot where the game calls out for all heroes so save the day , even though the Devs tried to provide intense story to support game it just doesn't happens and i blame the lack of trying nevertheless the plot goes like this , The great Watcher of the Universe narrates the plot of how its his job to look over the people and just observes but is forced to step in to stop the Dr. Doom from using Tesseract Cube (yeah the same cube from Avengers's movie) for his evil intentions as the whole world is in danger , like i said it may seem intense but its importance fades over time , its not like but you couldn't care whats going on with the story line althought you do go on some  quests/missions taking places in a variety of regions which are crazy fun especially when you are playing them with friends and dont worry about the gameplay time as its a MMO game updates will come carrying new missions and feautures
 .

Gameplay

Well Marvel Heroes has sort of a strategic gameplay with came angle hovering from above similar to one in strategy games in fact the gameplay can be defined as strategic where you control your character (super hero) simply just by clicking on your mouse (no controller support !!!) and can use special abilities via keys in keyboard and i was sort of dissapointed  as i was hoping the game to be more fast paced and action oriented though you do get accumulated according to it but it doesn't completely comfortable but the game tries to fill that up providing lots of content and amazing quests taking place in different and amazing landscapes were you fight against a large variety of different enemies not only including minions , mini bosses but they also have major scale super villains referring rivalry from almost every super hero and battling against them so very fun where you and you friends use you characters abilities and perform different tactics to fend off enemies and deal with major boss villains which helps in advance through the story line and as you people have noticed i have been trying to  implement that this game is more fun with friends because basically all MMO's are and this game just churns out that feature and basically the game is meant to played in co-op with friends.

                                            The Game is said to be Free to Play but basically it isn't completely as when you start the game after opening cinematic you get to chose between 6 different free characters and if you  want to play with other characters or unlock costumes , sidekick/pets , booster cards  etc. you have to purchase them by using  'G' points which you have to buy using real currency and thats pretty costly which undermines the whole meaning of free 2 play and it makes the game limited in somewhat areas apart from it the game seemed pretty user friendly to me and although i didn't found any bugs or ground breaking glitches myself there have been a tremendous amounts of report regarding connection issues and creating super group (in game Clan) and a few others  , Sincerely speaking gameplay is average at best i mean its great fun with friends but basically the main gameplay attributes do not tend to attract gamers which is one of the main negative factor about the game.

Visual/Sound FX

Visuals of marvel heroes is very artistic and having a nice textures and pretty well detailed considering it is a MMO game and that too counting on a large variety of landscapes and an array of villains ranging from small minions to main boss villains and seeing as it is a super hero game i noticed great and highly detailed game effect whether it is a flames or lightning or ice attacks almost every elementel effects are beautifully designed not to mention even though the game plays as sort of strategic way when zoomed in you can se detailed work done on them looks like gazzillion entertainment has good job in developing good visual compared to other MMO games but still if i compare it with other standard games the visuals would hardly be average and even i may seem satisfied but there is a complaint in a mission when too many players gets gathered up in a a place it gets a little too unstable and frame drops drops and becomes inconsistent well this happens rarely so no need to worry but it still needs to be patched.

                        Well looking for a sound FX in a super hero movie or game one expects it to be of heroic essence , a music that can get you psyched up and in my consistent time playing this game i found music score to be be energetic and suits the Heroism of the game apart from it the voice acting done by characters seems satisfying enough , Honestly this is far as i can describe about sound FX of the game because there is nothing much to talk about sound FX in this game

Final Words

Well Marvel Heroes is a fun game one can spend hours enjoying it especially with friends but it can't be considered hardcore action game and might turn off a large amount of crowd , the game has satisfying voice acting and visuals are pretty good compared to other MMO's but if compared to other standard games not too good but over all its great casual game  where you can play with friends or find all new players to play with and since technically its a Free 2 Play i seen no harm in trying it out.


Pros - Free 2 Play , Great fun with friends in co-op , great elemental visual effects , game has a lot of contents to offer

Cons - gameplay mechanics is not much user friendly , even being a free to play the game puts a lot  of limits on players by putting expensive contents to buy for , overall visuals not too great , story line doesn't seems to impact you after a point
