Hey guys honestly speaking this is one of the most awesomest game i've ever played. Thi game is a perfect example of porting a TV series or Movie into a Video Game Franchise because apart for few games they are a total trash but this is not only a great port but also offers a complete unique gaming experience .Well i won't be wasting anytime and getting on with the review.
Story/Plot
Well our lead characters from South Park(T.V. series) are LARP ing around the town where the struggle continues between humans & drow elves for possession over 'The Stick Of Truth' as whoever owns it shall control the universe and you are the new kid in town who's gonna help humans regaining 'The Stick', the plot outline is a little rip off from 'Lord Of the Rings' & 'Game of Thrones' but that just makes it more funny as those who all have watched the actual show it tends to make a ridicule of any subject or object no matter the topic and the game is also no different either , where you will laugh till the stomach aches at every turn around. Throughout my entire gameplay of about 10-12 hours including side-missions and collectibles i encountered almost every character from the TV show filling life into every section of South Park and the entire map is filled with fun little easter eggs. The game goes on a thrilling pace where you won't face a single moment of boredom where every quest be it Main or side is filled with variances and a new challenge even though its gameplay time is pretty normal with loads of replay value even till the end i was wishing the game would never end . Summing it up i would say that story is filled with funny and unexpected plot twists , insane Laughter moments and above all no repetitiveness. Well this was to be expected as the creators Trey Parker & Matt Stone personally contributed towards creation of this game.
Well as i have mentioned before 4th grade guys are LARP ing around the south park so its obviously an RPG game where go on various main & side quests looting and killing your way through whatever obstacles come ahead .One of the most challenging thing i found was to implement 2D perspective of scenario into gameplay element but 'The Obsidian Entertainement' still managed to do it so perfectly and with a true essence of the actual series in a simple manner that i was astonished , although i would admit at first i wasn't the biggest fan of the gameplay but after few minutes of settling in i was totally immersed & got hooked up and haven't been able to put down the controller for hours at the end .
Now getting into the core depth of its gameplay as its a Role-Playing genre you have to pick up among four different types namely Warrior,Mage, Thief & Jew ! yeah you heard me right being a Jew is infact a class type but i gotta admit there isn't much of a difference among the the classes as every type of items and weapons are available for every class and the only noticeable differences among them are the clothing and special attacks , i gotta admit it was a little let down but apart from it the gameplay section is rock solid even the combat system which is based on retro MMO games where the main action/battle occurs on a turn based system for which i donot usually support but this is no usual game and i wouldn't have it any other way as it is right now and don't worry about repetitiveness as the gameplay stays fresh throughout the game and due to variable quests and activities you acquire different supports & summons ability which provide a change of pace and are freakin hilarious. Speaking of special powers when i first obtained my ability of 'DragonShout' i know its an attack from Skyrim but this one is so damn better as you literally fart off as a blast and set things on fire , i cannot explain how hard i laughed when i first got the power and you not only get this but you will obtain 4 different types of fart power each one more deadly , gross and hilarious than before , the whole gameplay mechanics is a one big roller coaster rider where you'll experience laughter and dedication towards game all at same time . The game also manages to simplify obtaining collectibles and cliche'd tasks in such a way that for gamers who are going for 100% completion won't be irritated by these things instead they prove to be quite fun , not only this but i also found the game to be almost completely bug free and if there were any i was having so much fun that i might not have noticed it . I must admit i didn't expected this game to be so much entertaining and addictive .
Well everyone's gonna agree with me here that the visuals & the art style couldn't have been better where 'Obsidian Entertainment' instead of showing off dynamics of 3D modelled visuals they stayed true on course for providing us with a Great South Park experience in a traditional 2D concept and no matter if you are new to South Park franchise or a dedicated fan everybody's gonna love the light hearted visuals & concepts.
Sound FX.....
OH Boy! where do i even begin to describe how perfectly they have created the essence of South Park into a game with non-sense Hilarious voice acting by the actual casts from the show and the music score is both funny and psyched up at times. This whole co-ordination and concepts of both Visual & Sound FX are gonna make you feel that you are actually playing in a TV show.
Final Words
South Park : The Stick of Truth is the most hilarious game ever made filled with crazy insane moments which is gonna make you laughing out your asses but still maintaining the importance of the main plot with gameplay mechanics which stays fresh and addictive throughout the game and visuals & sound FX can be only defined as Classic South Park Experience. So no matter what type of gamer you are even i would say it also doesn't even matter if you are a gamer or not if you're a living breathing human you ought to try this game as its a Must play for all.
