Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z - Complete Review

Well am not a big fan of 'Ninja Gaiden' series but i have played enough Ninja gaiden games to know that they have consistently offered us or at least tried to offer us with crazy adventures of our phenomenal ninja 'Hayabusa' offering intense and fast paced action with somewhat borderline sensible storyline but i gotta tell you this , the latest title to the series "Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z" is a whole lot of crazy. Some of you may like it & a lot of you will hate it. So i will go on with the review and let you guys decide.

Story/Plot

Well in my previous  reviews if any of you have read it , I gave a lot of shit to 'Metal Gear Rising Revengeance' about its plot and how its a non sense , well i would like to take that back because compared to this game the plot for Metal Gears Rising is Oscar material . Still i will lay an outline for the plot no matter how dreadful it is , our protagonist here is 'Yaiba' who is a sort of mortal enemy of 'Hayabusa' (protagonist from previous Ninja Gaiden titles) and during one of their battles he lost his arm and died yup he actually died and some times later he was brought back to life in form of a cyborg by some fancy corporation and both Yaiba & the Chairman of this fancy corp wants Hyabusa dead. Since they share common interest they seek Hyabusa in a zombie infested town to put an end to him and that is everything the plot can offer where there is nothing new under the stone. Needless to say plot is super cheesy insane & downright non-sense. I think they were going for a 'Far Cy 3 Blood Dragon' kind of a vibe by attempting to make an insanely funny game but apart for a few whimsical moments its a total disaster , if i didn't knew any better i would have thought that the game is some sort of a joke played on gamer's expense .

Gameplay

The game is basically a fast-paced hack n' slash with a minimal amount of platforming . As mentioned before this is a zombie game and honestly i have been sick of the zombie games as lately they have gone cliche'd and boring where a new zombie game releasing almost every month .Well the one thing the game got it right was the hacking n' slashing component which runs at a high pace and it does provide some occasional fun but at the end of the day its still a mindless button mashing where you have to go through same scenario over and over again with the same routine, where you will enter an area where you will be attacked by normal zombies which are just fodder for you  to obtain health bars and then some higher level zombies magically appear and try to kill you. The only thing that kept me going through this was before mentioned fast paced hacking and dealing with a wide range of zombies as they both collectively made occasional fun moments.

Generally Ninja Gaiden games offers fast paced hack n' slash with a tough but redeeming learning curve where you face difficult challenges and rely on your skill to overcome them , surprisingly as it may sound Yaiba was also going for something like that but after half an hour of gameplay i noticed the game literally throws it away and makes you force back to button mashing and the challenges you face in the game are anything but skill based instead they are downright frustrating and i don't know why but with complete naivety i expected that Boss Battles would be any different "OH Boy was i Wrong !". Contrary to other Ninja Gaiden titles it has very limited moves and no special abilities apart from throwing zombies with the cyborg arm if it counts as one. The platforming part of the game however minimal amount it had was a good break for me from other repulsive nature of the game even the camera control angles where at one point i was sure of it that the game is trying to give me seizures (Kidding of course), the only thing this game got it right was the optimization where it maintained solid frames and no matter how much crazy the  visual angles went it managed the stability.Well you all must have the picture i was trying to paint about the game & Needless to say it would be sensible if you just avoid it.

Video/Sound FX

Well during the first cut scene i was like oh it has a cell shaded comic style visuals what could possibly go wrong ? the answer is Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z . For crying out loud i have seen Free to Play MMO games with  better visuals than this , i was barely able to identify different characters of the game & be far from it to be expecting detailed textures , still can't believe this game is powered by 'Unreal Engine' and by seeing the screenshots you must have got the idea about its graphics quality.

Well apart from some humour by Yaiba during play through i have nothing but hateful words towards this game regarding sound and visual FX

Final Words

'Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z' is a complete ridiculous game which fails at its every aspects even the  cheesy humour which was the main thing it was going for according to me , so i would highly recommend to avoid this game even hardcore Ninja Gaiden fans because after an hour or two this game becomes unbearable  I don't even know how i survived this train wreck. If you really wanna try this game go for it at your own risk.

"Just Avoid This Zombie Invasion"

Pros - Fast-paced action is occasionally fun , Array of different types of zombies
